How to get Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite explained

If you're playing LEGO Fortnite, one of the most crucial items you need early on is the Knotroot Wood, but where can you find it?

Before we get started, you’ll also need to equip a particular tool to gather yourself some Knotroot — an Uncommon Forest Axe, in particular.

So, keep reading to find out how to get Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite and which locations you can find it in.

To get Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite, head inside a Grassland Cave and chop the roots hanging from the walls with a Forest Axe.

Chopping down those roots or vines will then drop Knotroot for you to gather.

It will take a few hits to destroy the vine, which will then drop a small handful of Knotroot for you. So, if you’re after upgrading your base and/or Crafting Bench, you’ll need to chop down multiple roots inside Grassland Caves to earn enough of the item to use.

It appears as though Knotroot can only be found in Grassland Caves (where you can also find Marble in LEGO Fortnite), so don’t go looking for Caves in other biome areas of the map if it’s this crafting item you’re after.

Your LEGO Fortnite seed should spawn you in a Grassland area, so there should be one quite close to your starting location.

As we said, you will need a Forest Axe to gather Knotroot from a cave.

To craft an Uncommon Forest Axe, you’ll need to upgrade your Crafting Bench to the Uncommon Crafting Bench – which requires eight Planks and three Shells.

Once this is done, you’ll need three Bones and three Wooden Rods to craft an Uncommon Forest Axe.
