The Below Deck franchise has expanded tremendously since 2013, and with constant cast shake-ups, producers have their work cut out for them. They are responsible for casting and filming Below Deck and its spin-offs Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Below Deck Mediterranean, and Below Deck Down Under. The Bravo series follows yachting crews as they perform daily tasks, serve charter guests, and get to know one another.
Filming a show on water can be difficult enough without all the extra challenges. There have been several boat accidents captured, such as the Parsifal III crash during BDSY season 2. There have even been cast members fired from their duties on the show, such as Captain Glenn Shepard recently firing Tom Pearson in the now-airing BDSY season 3. There have also been near-fatal accidents that have made it on camera, such as when Beyond Deck season 6 deckhand Ashton Pienarr got caught in a rope and went overboard.

With many dramatic arguments, hookups, and even an accidental pregnancy between Dani Soares and Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux taking place, executive producer Nadine Rajabi, who has worked on Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean, and Below Deck Down Under, recently spoke to The Dipp on how Bravo chooses who will appear on the franchise and how they film the series.
