A new report reveals how much Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson and more made from Sing 2's hybrid theatrical and digital release. The animated musical sequel picks up sometime after the events of its 2016 predecessor as Buster Moon and his group of stars attempt to put on a show in Redshore City to impress an entertainment mogul. In a last-ditch effort to capture his attention, the group promise to enlist reclusive former rock star Clay Calloway to perform with them, though convincing him to come back to the stage proves harder than anticipated.
McConaughey and Johansson return to the cast of Sing 2 alongside fellow co-stars Reese Witherspoon, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Kroll, Garth Jennings, Peter Serafinowicz and Nick Offerman. The film also marked the franchise introductions of Bobby Cannavale as cruel media mogul Jimmy Crystal, Halsey as his daughter Porsha, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Chelse Peretti, Eric André and Bono. Sing 2 debuted to generally positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and a solid box office haul this past December, though the studio remained careful about their money behind the project.

Matthew Belloni has published a new report on Puck revealing how much Scarlett Johansson and her high-profile co-stars made from Sing 2's hybrid release. Sources report that Johansson, McConaughey and Witherspoon were all given checks in the "mid seven-figure" range to buy out a chunk of their box office bonuses, while the rest of the main cast were given smaller payouts.
