Hollow Knight Silksong, the upcoming sequel to 2017's Hollow Knight, has been delayed as the game has gotten "quite big".
The delay was announced on Twitter some hours ago by Team Cherry's Matthew 'Leth' Griffin. Silksong was initially planned to be released earlier this year. According to Griffin's tweet, the game is shaping up well but has gotten quite big. As such, the team needs additional time for development. No new release frame was provided.
"We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing", the tweet from Griffin reads. "We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can."
Fans of the franchise can expect more news about Silksong closer to its release. We'll update you as soon as more information about Silksong is released.
Announced back in 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong received a new trailer during last year's Xbox & Bethesda Game showcase. The game is one of the most anticipated indie titles - as a matter of fact, it's also on our own list of most anticipated Indie titles of 2023.
The game is coming to PC, Xbox (Game Pass on day one), and as announced back in September of last year, is also coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
