Typically, if a villager is at home and awake, the player can simply knock on the door and drop in for a visit. So when simpilyjustkaleb approached Molly the duck's home, they took notice of her window blinds being open. This is one potential way to test if a villager is home before knocking on their door. Eager to say hello to the duck villager, the player runs up to the door to knock. However, just as they click to do so, the blinds hastily shut and the player is instead greeted with the message that Molly isn't home.
