Helldivers 2's latest Major Order presents something of a moral quandary. With limited time on the clock and an army of bots bearing down, players must choose between saving the thousands of civilians trapped on Vernen Wells, inside «Super Citizen Anne's Hospital for Very Sick Children», or liberating the rare materials required to produce the MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines stratagem that has eluded the community for some time now.
It's a classic take on the infamous Trolley Problem, and it will be fascinating to see which way the community goes. Obviously, very sick children are to be pitied, but will they thank you when a Bile Titan inevitably devours them? Consider the greater good here: many more will die unless new, more explosive ways to destroy the enemies of Super Earth are found. Of course, the beauty of Liberty is the freedom to choose, but we all know how this one is going to end. To celebrate, PlayStation UK mocked up this artist's depiction of the philosophical quagmire the community now finds itself in:
Damn bugs whacked him, Johnny
They drew first blood
