Helldivers 2 is a pretty chaotic game, having players fend off waves and waves of big bugs and deadly robots on an intense battlefield. It can be a little overwhelming at times, especially if you're trying to remember and input a strategem code whilst being chased by a group of Hulks, but some fans have come up with a rather clever method of shortening the time spent inputting the code, or just skipping the process entirely.
First shared by PC Gamer, there are several videos on various social media platforms of Helldivers 2 players using Stream Decks to make calling stratagems a lot easier. For example, you already have players such as YouTuber HarveyTheNoob creating tutorials for people looking to create macros for strategems (something players of the original Helldivers did), while others are using the Stream Deck in more creative ways.
Take TikTok user Dankischillin as a prime example, who has not only managed to rig up their Stream Deck to give them a variety of strategems with the single push of a button, but has also added icons to their device for each strategem to make it look like a snazzy control panel.
If having a control panel in front of you isn't immersive enough, then perhaps TikTok user BigBadHater's method is a little more your style. Instead of having a big Stream Deck in front of them and having strategems linked to a single button, they've actually taped a small Stream Deck to their arm and use it to punch in strategem codes instead. It's not the most effective way to do it, as their Helldiver is just standing still while they do it, but you have to give them points for their creativity.
Of course, like with everything online these days, some Helldivers 2 players aren't particularly pleased with this method of strategem input, claiming that frantically inputting the codes while fighting is half the fun, and declaring Stream Deck usage as "Automaton behavior". My argument is that it looks cool, it isn't harming anyone, and spreading democracy more
