After just one meeting, Marvel Studios cast Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop for Hawkeye. From the moment Marvel announced in 2019 that Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton was getting his own Disney+ series, it was also confirmed that the show would introduce Kate Bishop to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She's been a fan-favorite character in the comics since she debuted in 2005 as part of the Young Avengers, and that put some pressure on Marvel Studios to find the perfect actress to play the archer. Now, Assembled: The Making of Hawkeye has provided more details on Kate's casting.
Following Hawkeye's announcement, who would play Kate Bishop became one of the biggest questions about the series. Hailee Steinfeld ultimately landed the coveted role and made her MCU as Kate in Hawkeye in late 2021. Just like the comics, she quickly found a fanbase within the MCU. Steinfeld helped ensure Kate Bishop was one of the best new MCU characters introduced in 2021 as audiences watched her journey to become the universe's next Hawkeye. It's safe to say that Marvel Studios once again nailed a casting decision, and it seems they knew it right away.

In addition to Disney+ providing Marvel Studios with a new avenue to tell stories set in the MCU, the streaming service has also brought a new series of behind-the-scenes documentaries.
