The rights of Marvel's Netflix shows are now owned by Disney and the House of Mouse is currently planning on releasing them soon on a different platform. Back in 2018, the streaming service started purging its Marvel TV series to the surprise of fans. The reason for the cancelation was initially unclear, with confusing reports as to whose decision it was to pull the plug on a relatively successful franchise. After several years, however, things are starting to clear up, with Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio, recently sharing that it's primarily because Disney was planning to launch Disney+ and wanted to consolidate all of Marvel's small screen projects there.
Still, fans of the Netflix pocket of the Marvel universe remained hopeful that there was a way that the Defenders' individual and collective stories could continue. Recently, there has been a glimmer of hope with both D'Onofrio's Kingpin and Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock popping up in the MCU proper through Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home, respectively. Now, however, it seems like Disney is making moves to ultimately incorporate that corner of the universe to Kevin Feige's main franchise as a brand new report indicates that Disney owns all the rights to all of the shows.

Per Deadline, Netflix's license for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, Iron Fist, and The Defenders is finally ending, after which, they will revert back to Disney. While the House of Mouse is currently tight-lipped about their plans for these series, the same report shares that they will be announcing where fans can access these beloved shows next after they are taken off of Netflix.
