Over the years, the Master Chief has been forced to fight many Covenant enemies during his missions to protect humanity. From the small but numerous Grunts and Jackals to the walking tanks known as Hunters, the Covenant has no shortage of alien races at its disposal. Among the ranks of this religious faction that took center stage during the events of Halo 3 were the Brutes.
While Brutes first appeared in the series in Halo 2, they became the primary force of the Covenant in Halo 3 after the Great Schism. These large bipedal aliens posed a challenge for the Master Chief as they often came equipped with powerful weapons, such as Gravity Hammers. Recently, one gamer discovered that these warriors are just as cunning as deadly.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as MoaBurger shared a video from their time playing Halo 3. What made this clip stand out was an unusual engagement the Reddit user had with an enemy Brute. The video started with the player standing on an elevated platform while attempting to drive off a number of Covenant enemies. After a few moments, they were engaged by an enemy Brute wielding a deadly Gravity Hammer. As the enraged Covenant enemy moved in for the attack, the player deftly sidestepped to the left, avoiding the oncoming assault. As a result, the Brute was sent flying off the edge and into the abyss below. At least, that was what the player thought.
