Teen Wolf: The Movie has cast an actor to play Derek Hale's son. Loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name, Teen Wolf began as an MTV series in 2011 centered around Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, the titular teenage werewolf who defends the fictitious California town of Beacon Hills from supernatural creatures and other threats. Over its 6-season run, Teen Wolf featured a host of popular supporting characters, one of them being Derek Hale (portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin), a natural-born werewolf who initially develops a hostile relationship with Scott, though later becomes a valuable ally.
Last year, it was announced that a Teen Wolf movie was in the works exclusively for Paramount+. Showrunner Jeff Davis has returned to write the script along with much of the original cast who will be reprising their roles, including Posey, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, and Shelley Hennig in starring roles and Dylan Sprayberry, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, and JR Bourne in supporting roles. While it's currently unclear if Hoechlin will reprise the role of Derek, the movie will see the return of his flesh and blood.
