GTA 6 might well be the most-anticipated release in the history of video games, and we only know it even exists because of the massive leak last year. Rockstar still hasn't shown us anything official from the next game in the series, nor has it revealed when exactly it might launch. However, a fresh leak from a reputable source claims the studio currently has the end of 2024 penciled in for a GTA 6 arrival.
Tez2, who has accurately leaked upcoming GTA information in the past, discussed the potential release window for GTA 6 on the series' forums. The leaker describes holiday 2024 as an always changing, not set-in-stone launch date for GTA 6, adding the goal has already been pushed back multiple times. With that in mind, it still seems incredibly likely it gets pushed again into the first quarter of 2025, at the very earliest.

Insider Gaming has backed Tez2's reports, citing its own sources have pointed to holiday 2024, but that GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 schedules will likely continue to make sure that date keeps getting pushed. It guesses closer to holiday 2025 for GTA 6's release window. As for why it has been delayed so much, the issue appears to be waiting for enough people to have new consoles as GTA 6 reportedly won't launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
Although both insiders firmly believe holiday 2024 might be a little ambitious, Tez2 also mentions Rockstar may well have a contingency plan to try and make sure it meets that new target. That plan may involve holding back certain parts of the game and rolling them out at a later date with a DLC label slapped on them.
