Netflix's signature romcoms welcome the newest member of the family, Tall Girl 2,which premieres on the streaming service February 11. The sequel comes two and a half years after the original sparked water cooler conversation and reached a record number of views. This time around, audiences will get to see the story's themes expand beyond body positivity to various sources of anxiety and insecurity for teens. Heroine Jodi (Ava Michelle, Dance Moms) is back and more confident than before, but she still struggles with her self-image once she auditions for the school musical.
Her friends and classmates also get their chance to shine, and some light is shed on their concerns as well. Dunk (Griffin Gluck, Locke & Key) wants to make sure his new romance with Jodi remains perfect, but a lack of communication threatens to derail their honeymoon phase. Swedish exchange student Stig (Luke Eisner, Timeline) is still reeling from his previous bid for popularity, and now must rebuild the friendships he fractured. Tall Girl 2 also introduces Tommy (Jan Luis Castellano, 13 Reasons Why), an aspiring musical theater actor who has his own insecurities to deal with.
