He later jumped into directing features, with his directorial credits including Lily Grace: A Witch Story, Prayer Never Fails, River Runs Red, and Hell on the Border. His latest directorial outing is the action movieA Day To Die, now in theaters and on VOD services.
In A Day To Die, parole officer Connor (Kevin Dillon) finds himself in a desperate mission to rescue his wife. With a very short window of time, Connor has to find a way to get $2 million to Tyrone Pettis, played in the film by Leon. This leads Connor to call in a favor from some special ops associates in order to pull off the heist to get the money.

We speak to Wes Miller on the making of A Day To Die, the complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and working with Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo, Kevin Dillion, and Leon.
Screen Rant: Let's start off with How A Day To Die came about?
Wes Miller: Yeah, I mean the script came to me. A friend brought it to me, and I was looking to do an action film, just kind of looking at where I wanted to be in my career trajectory and what I wanted to do. Also, with action, I don't want to make just simple, straight A to B action films, you know. I'm a former civil rights lawyer, so I really want to infuse into, you know, the material. And so, I went in and did a rewrite. Once I was happy with it, we got it to Frank, he liked it and then he was on-board. And then, we were pushing the shoot and then the pandemic happened, so we had to sit for a while, and then we got back in 2021 and started getting the rest of the cast
