Gjretro on Instagram gjretro So the craziest, coolest, most insane thing happened to me I won one of the three official giveaway prizes by @blizzard to commemorate the launch of Diablo II Resurrected back in September It started with a comment and a dream. I reminisced on all my OG builds back in 1.09 patch D2 LoD. I bought D2R later that evening on Xbox since I had a gift card sitting around.It's like I never stopped playing. All that knowledge just resurfaced and it was hella fun! At first, I thought «how is a controller gonna work?». Quite well in fact.
I would have preferred it on PC but my last build put together during Diablo III's launch had crapped out years ago and I never felt motivated to upgrade or fix it. The next day I'm talking with my wife and out of nowhere I get a notification on my phone. I was tagged by the official Diablo Facebook page.
«You have been chosen. The Dark Lord wishes to upgrade your PC». WOAH.
My soul literally left my body. My wife had a heart attack at my sudden outburst. It was pure euphoria! There is no game I've dumped more hours into than Diablo II.
From about 6th grade through end of college, I played religiously. There hasn't been another game since that has captivated me as much. I can definitely see my self playing another 10 years, might even skip Diablo IV lol It's a surreal feeling to have something one of a kind for your favorite video game of all time.
This is now the grail in my collection without question. Something I will be buried with. Thank you @blizzard for creating my favorite game of all time and graciously conducting such a generous giveaway I'd be remiss if I did not mention and sing a thousand praises for.
