Late last year, Final Fantasy 14 launched its long-awaited Endwalker expansion, the MMO's fifth major DLC and the follow-up to 2019's Shadowbringers. This was the culmination of a decade of storytelling within the MMO, with plenty of new content for fans to enjoy. After several delays, it launched to critical and commercial success, and the game is showing no signs of slowing down. It was so popular, in fact, that at one point before Endwalker's release, digital copies of Final Fantasy 14 were sold out for a little while. While additional keys were generated and more players joined in, the game briefly needed to stop being sold.
With so many fans and new players joining in to play Final Fantasy 14's latest expansion, it caused several issues for players during its launch. This includes all of its servers being congested and players experiencing long queue times. This heavy traffic caused many registered players to be affected, especially users who were participating in Final Fantasy 14's free trial. Fortunately, that trial is set to make a return in the near future.
Final Fantasy 14 Is Getting A Graphical Overhaul in 7.0
While the main reason for Final Fantasy 14 halting its sales was to assist with the game's continued server congestion issues, the plug on Final Fantasy 14's free trial stopped interested players from trying out the game's content and seeing if it was something they would enjoy. The free trial includes no restrictions on playtime all the way till level 60 and allows gamers to access the A Realm Reborn and Heavensward storylines. Fortunately, after months of unavailability, the free trial will soon be available once again.
