Good News for iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini users! Next iOS 16 update to bring battery meter

If you wanted to have the battery meter on your old iPhone XR, or iPhone 11, or the newer compact iPhone 12 Mini, there's good news. Apple introduced a battery meter on the notch-equipped iPhone models with the iOS 16 update last week. Sadly, the feature was limited to the new iPhone models that had a 6.1-inch display and had an OLED panel. This criteria eliminated both the Mini iPhones as well as the older models with Liquid Retina, or LCD displays. Apple is now going to include all models with the iOS 16.1 update.

Based on the features rolled out to developers with the iOS 16.1 developer beta, the battery meter is now reaching all the models that were excluded previously. That means users of the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 will now be able to have the battery meter enabled on the battery icon. This allows users to check the battery status without summoning the Control Center, thereby eliminating an extra step.

While the Battery Meter is a nifty feature, iOS 16.1 will bring the Live Activities feature to supported iPhone models. Hence, when you have an incoming Swiggy delivery, you will be able to track it directly from the lockscreen in the form of a persistent notification. For users of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Live Activities will be available on the Dynamic Island feature as well.

Additionally, users will be able to see a new lockscreen customisation window, allowing for an easier experience. The Clean Energy Charging feature will also be available but only in the United States as of now.
