Good Girls star Mae Whitman joins the new Hulu musical series Up Here as its female lead. The show will take place in 1999 and centers on a whirlwind love story, as well as how each individual navigates constructing their own self-image in the midst of past decisions and future goals. Up Here comes from Dear Evan Hansen writer Steven Levenson, New Girl writer/producer Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, and Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The latter two will pen original songs for the series, and Hamilton director Thomas Kail will direct.

Lindsay decides to move away from a small town in Vermont to New York City in order to discover her true self. Production on the series will begin this summer with Levenson, Sanchez-Witzel, Anderson-Lopez, Lopez, and Kail executive producing along with Jennifer Todd (Come from Away).
