During PlayStation's State of Play earlier today, a new trailer for God of War: Ragnarok was presented, showing off a lot of epic battles, including one between Kratos and Thor. Many gamers have been looking forward to the upcoming God of War game, so this trailer was considered by many fans to be one of the highlights of the showcase.
The previous God of War game, which released in 2018, served as a soft reboot for the series, being the start of a new story inspired by Norse mythology. God of War: Ragnarok continues Kratos and Atreus' adventures as they battle against Norse figures, including Thor, the God of Lightning.

The highlight of the trailer was the ending, in which Kratos is knocked back and slides on the frozen ground. The camera turns to reveal that his opponent is Thor, one of the main antagonists that players will be able to fight against in God of War: Ragnarok. Kratos then throws his Leviathan Axe at the God of Thunder, who deflects the attack by throwing his hammer, causing the two weapons to clash as lightning sparks around them.
In addition to the fight with Thor, the beginning of the trailer raised a lot of questions about the upcoming sequel. Atreus talks about keeping secrets from loved ones in order to protect them as Kratos drops his weapons. The trailer then transitions to Tyr joining Kratos and Atreus on their quest and wondering what they want from him. Tyr was an important character from the previous game's lore, though he wasn't actually seen, so it will be interesting to learn more about him and his relationship with the protagonists in this sequel.
