A recent Pokémon Unite leak suggests that at least one super-sized Gigantamax Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield could be coming in the future. Call of Duty: Mobile developer TiMi Studio Group first released Pokémon Unite as a free-to-play multiplayer battle arena game for the Nintendo Switch in July 2021, with a wider launch on Android-compatible devices the following September. Players control a single Pokémon and work to level it up by defeating computer-controlled wild Pokémon and other players in frantic multiplayer battles.
While certain aspects of Pokémon Unite have been met with scrutiny by players, such as the game’s microtransaction model and the recently launched Pokémon Unite subscription service, Unite has been downloaded over 70 million times across all platforms and has fostered a growing e-Sports community in the year since its release. In that time, developer TiMi Studio Group has added plenty of new features and playable characters to Pokémon Unite, such as the ranged Psychic Gardevior and the classic Water-type powerhouse Blastoise. There have also been several patches to address certain overpowered creatures like Snorlax and Greninja, as well as DLC alternate costumes for Pokémon Unite combatants like Gengar and Lucario.
