Respawn Entertainment seems to be working on a single-player companion to Apex Legends.
Dexerto reports(Opens in a new window) that Respawn has posted several open positions—one for a senior engineer and the other for a hard surface artist—that refer to an "Apex Universe FPS Incubation title."
Respawn says in the first listing(Opens in a new window) that "as a Senior Systems Engineer (Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title) you will design, build, and maintain technology that enables the team to create engaging gameplay and fantastic experiences." More information is available via the listing.
The second listing(Opens in a new window) confirms that the studio is working on "a brand new Respawn single-player adventure." Respawn says in the listing that "this new single-player title is a developer’s dream playground with the freedom to innovate made possible by the unique universe it inhabits."
That's pretty much all that can be grokked from these job listings. The reference to an Apex Universe FPS suggests that Respawn's working on a companion to its popular battle royale title, but even if that is the case, the game is likely to change during the development process.
Oh, and Apex Legends is technically part of the Titanfall universe, which means a single-player game within the Apex Legends universe would also be part of the Titanfall universe... unless Respawn also hires Dr. Strange to help it navigate this fractured FPS multiverse.
