It’s been a winding journey, but Nintendo Switch owners will finally have a chance to play the frantic co-op moving game Get Packed. A new Switch version, Get Packed: Couch Chaos, launches on April 28 with extra mini-games like soccer and a cannon-dodging activity.
Lock me in a room surrounded by a dozen cannons, and I’m gonna freak. The only thing that’s missing is a little Jigsaw puppet rolling up on a tricycle to kick off the festivities.
This game might not look like much at a glance, and that honestly goes double for the Switch edition — but it’s actually pretty fun if you’re looking to grow your collection of games in the Overcooked, Moving Out, and Tools Up umbrella. I’d rank it somewhere in the middle, at least based on my experience with the PS4 version, which you can read more about here. Interestingly, this is one of those games that got its start on Stadia before showing up on other platforms — Nintendo Switch is the latest (and seemingly last).
Get Packed is fast-paced, a bit loose, and explosion-filled, so when I say that your job is to snatch up valuable possessions and cram them into a moving truck as fast as possible without crashing into teammates, well, expect your ideal plans to be quickly derailed.
I dig the game’s bleak, unconventional premise. “When a greedy salt mining company takes over Ditchlington, Last Ditch Removals must handle the hostile eviction. With little time and even less caution, your ragtag removals team gets to work rapidly relocating the entire town…leaving a trail of destruction, explosions, and debris in your wake!”
The story mode goes to interesting places beyond normal houses, and communication feels necessary. I distinctly remember trying (and failing) to squeeze dinosaur
