One lucky Nintendo Switch player was able to access Advance Wars: 1+2 Re-Boot Camp on their console, thanks to a feature on the E-Shop. The game was set to release on April 8, 2022, but due to recent events between Russia and Ukraine and the themes that the Advance Wars titles are based upon, Nintendo decided to indefinitely postpone the launch. Fans who were looking forward to the game were upset but understood the reasoning behind the decision.
Advance Wars: 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is a turn-based strategy game where players are in charge of a military outlet. Players, assuming the role of a Commanding Officer, must make decisions about where and when to send tanks and troops in order to advance to the next level and defeat enemy troops. In Re-Boot Camp the game will remain very similar to the original titles, but there are many new experiences that will be offered as well. There will be customizable maps, a multiplayer mode where players can compete with each other, and potentially an online mode. The developers have also overhauled the 2D graphics to bring new 3D graphics to Re-Boot Camp.

Nintendo Everything reported that Twitter user killetheth had been able to access Re-Boot Camp and even play through some missions. According to the tweet, killetheth had pre-loaded the game onto their Nintendo Switch Lite and received a notification that they were able to play the game on April 8th, the date it was supposed to release. She shared videos and screencaps of the gameplay to prove that she was actually playing the game and not just using footage from elsewhere.
