Reddit user u/Massivecliff recommends turning dialogue volume off in Genshin Impact's audio settings while fishing. Paimon talks to the Traveler as the character is fishing, but her dialogue becomes redundant rather quickly. For instance, Paimon will interject about being hungry as the player reels in a prized catch. The settings change will make the fishing experience more pleasant, and audio settings may revert to default at the player's discretion.

Paimon has 17 unique voice lines dedicated to fishing, and her voice lines activate in certain conditions such as catching a fish or seeing a fish escape. Although the Traveler spoke a few times in the main story of Genshin Impact, the protagonist does not talk while fishing. Instead, the Traveler grunts while reeling in fish as Paimon talks normally. She may also reference their initial meeting in Mondstadt where the Traveler caught Paimon believing that she was some sort of fish.
