A year after its original announcement, the first gameplay look at Gangs of Sherwood has been provided today with a brand new trailer.
The new gameplay reveal, complete with commentary from members of the development team at Appeal Studios, was shared during today's Nacon Direct. The video, which can be watched below, showcases some intense co-op action that doesn't look bad at all, despite having been captured from an early alpha version of the game. All characters shown in the trailer seem to have very different movesets giving them plenty of combat options, so it will be very interesting to see if the game will be as fun as it looks when it launches later this year.
Gangs of Sherwood will let players take on the role of Robin Hood and other members of his gags - Marian, Friar, Tuck, and Little John, as they take on the armies of the Sheriff of Nottingham in a reimagined version of the Robin Hood world. Fighting hordes of enemies using a variety of abilities isn't the only thing players will be doing, as they will also have to improve their reputation by saving innocents and dividing the loot with the people to unlock new upgrades and special moves to take on even stronger enemies.
Gangs of Sherwood will release sometime this Fall on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. A precise release date has yet to be confirmed.
