Iconic slasher villain Freddy Krueger gets romantic in a brand new valentine card designed for a fan contest organized by Krueger actor Robert Englund. The razor-gloved killer first appeared in Wes Craven's 1984 classic A Nightmare on Elm Street. The now-classic villain appeared in dreams to menace and kill the children of the men and women who burned him to death after it was discovered he murdered many of the local kids. That low-budget film became a massive hit, spawning a franchise that included seven films, two seasons of a horror anthology series, a 2010 remake, and a crossover with Friday the 13th killer Jason Voorhees.
Freddy Krueger became a celebrity in his own right, even getting his own 900 phone number for a brief period, as well as a record where he and the «The Elm Street Group» covered doo-wop standards alongside some original tracks. After the first two films, he developed the habit of making wisecracks while tormenting his victims, and the killer's blend of terror and comedy really struck gold with the teen audiences at the time. Throughout the years — with the exception of the remake — he has always been played by Englund. But the character may have a softer side.

On his official Twitter account, Englund shared the winner of his 2022 Valentine design contest. The design, which was created by Louise Spragg, will now become part of a limited edition sale ahead of the romantic holiday. It's a grotesque but amusing design that reads, "Hey Valentine… Wanna suck face?" and features a vibrantly colored illustration of Freddy making out with a desiccated corpse.
