Fortnite is continuing its Soundwave Series with a performance from Australian singer-songwriter Tones and I. Fortnite began the Soundwave Series back in October 2021, where artists around the world had their music performed and promoted in the game through a series of playable shows. The first of which was with Egyptian performer Mohamed Hamaki, which was well received from the player-base, and with many more artists slated to be taking part in the future.
Each performance takes players through a specific map, each built for a specific song by community creators Team Alliance and TheBoyDilly. This is not that different from an event hosted during Season 7 of Chapter 2, when Easy Life performed during the Cosmic Summer event, or the Rift Tour that was headlined by Ariana Grande that same season.

The event is set to go live on January 21st at 6 PM ET under the Soundwave Series banner in the main hub, and will be repeating non-stop for 72 hours (Monday, January 24th at 6 PM EST), meaning players don’t immediately have to jump into the game right away to experience the performance. After completing the event, players will also be able to receive a small memento for the occasion, and Soundwave Series - Tones and I Spray emote that they'll be able to use in game. In addition to this, the Fortnite Item Shop received two new items: a Lobby Track for Tones and I’s song “Cloudy Day," and an emote based on her record-breaking single “Dance Monkey.”
Also in the Item Shop are several skins and emotes related to the Icon series, namely emotes based on several popular dances based on songs from Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stalion, and many more. The Press Play item set,
