New details regarding the second season of the Amazon sci-fi comedy series, Upload, were recently revealed by series creator, Greg Daniels. Season 1 of Upload follows Nathan, a computer programmer who has died and subsequently is uploaded to the digital afterlife. He finds himself in the expensive Lake View community, which his still-living girlfriend, Ingrid, purchases for him. Nathan soon begins to realize he has fallen out of love with Ingrid and begins to fall for his still-living customer service representative, Nora.
The season 1 finale ofUpload ends with Nathan breaking up with Ingrid and switching to a much less expensive data plan, which in turn creates a misunderstanding between him and Nora as he doesn't have enough data to respond to her after she professes her love for him. This leads Nora to believe that her love is unrequited, and causes her to abandon technology and go off the grid entirely. In addition, the episode reveals that Ingrid has uploaded herself to Lake View and partially restored Nathan's data so that they can spend eternity together.

Now, Collider has revealed in an interview with Daniels that season 2 will follow how Nathan and Nora will find their way back to each other, even though Nora has done away with her participation in the digital afterlife and Nathan is trapped with Ingrid in Lakeview. Daniels also noted that part of the reason that season 2 has not aired yet is due to the large amount visual effects required for the series and also stated that season 3 is currently being written.
