Developer Nadeo and publisher Ubisoft's Trackmania launches today on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Amazon Luna. The game was first released on PC in 2020.
Trackmania is a remake of 2006's racing game Trackmania Nations. This modern version has full cross-play and cross-progression, which means that players will be able to join up with each other and play regardless of what platform they're on. Additionally, their game data will carry over between platforms as well.
The game is free-to-play and offers both solo and multiplayer seasonal campaigns. There are over 1,000 tracks for players to race in and can also create their own.
Console versions of the game were first announced back in September 2022. At first, the game's free-to-play model and subscription tier system received criticism at launch on PC.
Trackmania features the Starter Access, Standard Access, and Club Access tiers. While Starter Access is free, Standard Access and Club Access are $10 and $30 a year, respectively. Starter Access allows players to sample 25 of the game's pre-made tracks. Standard Access unlocks features such as daily competitions, player creation servers, and track editor. Club Access provides the most robust experience for players, unlocking more features like the ability to create custom servers, participate in online rooms, and compete in the official Trackmania leagues.
