Gameplay footage showing off playable mechs in Helldivers 2 appears to have leaked.
A player who originally posted the footage on Reddit said they encountered mechs in a random game this week.
They said another player was able to spawn in multiple types of mech, which allowed pilots to alternate between rockets and a machine gun.
Here’s clear gameplay of the Helldivers 2 playable mech and the dropship that brings a group of friendly support soldiers (NPCs) when players call it in. <a target="_blank" rel=«noopener» class=«link-external» href=«https://twitter.com/hashtag/Helldivers2?src=hash&ref_src=» https:>#Helldivers2

They also claimed to have seen new weapons like an energy RPG, “a meteorite that hits like the nuke”, and a group of NPC support characters that can be called in.
Mechs are available in the original Helldivers and were also teased as “coming soon after launch” in a pre-release trailer for the sequel.
Having resolved the server issues that players had been facing since the game’s release earlier this month, Arrowhead boss Johan Pilestedt recently said the studio can switch its attention to improving the title and working on new content.
“Now we have time to focus on improvements to the title and resume our original plan,” he said. “Many exciting things upcoming!”
Pilestedt also recently said the company wants to recruit more developers to “beef up” its content plans for the Sony-published shooter, which is available for PC and PS5.
