Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a musou-style spin-off of the 2019 strategy game Fire Emblem: Three Houses, will likely have a large roster of playable characters. The original Three Houses featured its titular houses of eight students each, as well as a mix of teachers, mercenaries, and members of the Church of Seiros. While Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has not confirmed all previous characters to be returning, early trailers have shown Monica, who has a rather complicated history in the original game.
Monica was revealed to be playable in the April 12, 2022 trailer focusing on new protagonist Shez, which reveals former protagonist Byleth will take a more antagonistic role in Three Hopes. While fans were not surprised to see a new protagonist after Shez was teased in earlier marketing, Monica's appearance on the battlefield alongside Edelgard von Hresvelg and the other members of the Black Eagles is interesting to see.
