Gamers are always looking for outlets to express their creativity, and Final Fantasy 14 fans are most certainly among that number. One Final Fantasy 14 player has expressed this creativity in the form of a custom book controller to play the Scholar and Summoner jobs with.
Super Louis 64 is the creative genius behind this controller. His mastery of crazy custom controller creation has earned him the title of “Controller Bender.” The Scholar book controller is one of many Final Fantasy 14 controllers he has made on his quest to become the real-life Warrior of Light.

The controller itself is essentially a modded-out Xbox controller which uses pressure sensors to detect when he writes in the book. The giant pencil has a joystick and additional buttons on it to allow Super Louis 64 to move his character and select from ability presets. To actually cast the spell, Super Louis 64 has to scribble on the top or bottom of the book’s page for a certain amount of time, which then begins casting the preset spells. Though he won’t be clearing any of Final Fantasy 14’s most challenging content with it, Super Louis 64’s dungeon runs with the controller were chaotic and hilarious to watch.
Though he has made tons of other Final Fantasy 14 controllers already, Super Louis 64 has made some for other games as well. He has beaten Halo 3 and Elden Ring with a Guitar Hero controller, and has played Overwatch using a Ring Fit Adventure controller. He has even beaten Dark Souls with a controller made of actual bananas. There is truly no limit to the creative absurdity of Super Louis 64’s controller ideas.
