EA’s annual football series will be stepping into a new era when its 2023 instalment launches under the new name of EA Sports FC, but last year’s instalment, FIFA 23, is still going strong in the UK. As per data released by the Gfk for weekly physical software sales in the UK (via GamesIndustry), FIFA 23 has climbed back to the top of the charts, having spent the last few weeks in second place, thanks to a 27% boost in sales.
Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake, which topped the previous two weekly charts, has fallen to No. 2 with a 55% drop in sales. Meanwhile, Hogwarts Legacy hands on to its place at No. 3, with sales down only 5% from last week.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has climbed up to No. 4, enjoying a 13% increase in sales, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is down to No. 6 with a 26% drop. Interestingly, The Last of Us Part 2 has re-entered the top 10. Thanks to a whopping 999% increase in sales driven by Easter and Spring price promotions, the game finds itself in fifth place in the charts. Fellow first party PlayStation title Gran Turismo 7 has seen an impressive 483% rise to re-enter the charts at No. 7, while God of War Ragnarok sits in ninth place (up 25%).
The only new release in the top 10 this week is EA’s new golf sim EA Sports PGA Tour, which comes in at No. 8.
