An incredibly creative Final Fantasy VII Remake mod replaces Cloud Strife's trademark Buster Sword with a bright red Keytar Sword. As one of the most iconic weapons in all of gaming, the Buster Sword counts as nothing short of an integral piece of Final Fantasy history. Cloud wasn't the first person to wield it, however; nor did he serve as the sword's second owner. Notably, the fan-favorite character inherited the mammoth-sized blade from Crisis Core protagonist and SOLDIER member Zack Fair, who originally received it from his mentor, Angeal Hewley.
Since its PC release late last year on the Epic Games Store, Final Fantasy 7 Remake has become the subject of more than a fair few modding projects. Many of the earlier mods addressed FF7 Remake texture fixes and the like, the community's attempt at tackling the myriad graphical and performance issues that plagued the PC version at launch. Meanwhile, other mods have swapped out characters, redesigned the looks of heroes and villains, and even allowed Aerith to use the steel chair as a permanent weapon. But what happens when modders begin tinkering with Cloud Strife's weapon of choice?

Nexus Mods user The Eradicator (via PC Gamer) recently created a new Final Fantasy 7 Remake mod that switches out Cloud's Buster Sword with a stark red Yamaha SHS-10 model Keytar. That's right, the PC mod in question allows the beloved Final Fantasy hero to strike at his foes with Yamaha's classic Shoulder Keyboard. The Eradicator notes that what makes this build especially neat is how the digital 00 on the Keytar changes color based on the color of materia in the weapon's first slot.
