The Mass Effect franchise is well known for its vast and detailed universe. There are multiple unique alien races designed with their own cultures, a whole host of interesting technology, and a series of impressive locations for the player to explore. While Mass Effect: Legendary Edition gives most of the environments seen in the original Mass Effect trilogy visual updates, some fans are still looking for a complete overhaul of some Mass Effect maps to give them a next-gen feel.
YouTuber Leo Torres is looking to give the Omega station, a popular map featuring in both Mass Effect 2 and 3, an overhaul using Unreal Engine 5. It was announced last week that the latest Unreal Engine would be available for all developers, and already it seems that some are putting the new engine to good use. In a 2-minute video, Torres shows the impressive update to one of Mass Effect's most popular locations, complete with improved background elements, textures, and reflections.

Alongside Unreal Engine 5, Torres used Lumen for reflections and global illuminations, alongside using Nanite for the meshes. Unfortunately for fans though, Torres' recreation will not be available for public use. Still, that didn't stop Mass Effect fans from praising the recreation. Comments on Torres' YouTube video were impressed by how the remake captured the mood and atmosphere of the crime hub. One viewer even said that this new look would be a perfect crossover for Cyberpunk 2077, while another commented that they thought it was Lorville from Star Citizen.
