This is not the first time that this unusual choice of controller has come up; one dedicated gamer defeated the final boss of Elden Ring in much the same way.
The success of the arcade gameDance Dance Revolution is arguably what kickstarted the rhythm game genre into becoming what it is today. With a multitude of releases over the years since 1999, both in arcades and on home consoles, DDR has maintained its popularity as a classic gaming experience for over 20 years now. Until the advent of Just Dance on the Wii in 2009, Dance Dance Revolution was the quintessential dancing-based video game, and remains a fixture in arcades to this day. This enduring legacy has led to the franchise receiving some unusual, but impressive nods and tributes over the years, including one amazing recreation of DDR in Minecraft.

Using one of the game's iconic dance pads as a controller for other games is an unusual idea, but the results speak for themselves. PCGamesN reports that Twitch streamer MomoPkmn95 was inspired to make her rhythmic attempt at playing Kingdom Hearts after watching other gamers beating difficult titles like Dark Souls with similar equipment. MomoPkmn95 first had the idea to use a dance pad to play games on the PS2 some time ago, although setting this up was not without difficulty. She reportedly found it too limiting during her initial attempt, and subsequently shelved the idea until she could improve her computer systems to compensate.
