Squid Game season 2 will have better games than the first season according to creator Hwang Dong-hyuk. Created, written, and directed by Dong-hyuk, Squid Game became a global sensation and one of Netflix’s most popular series of all time. The survival thriller focuses on a deadly contest that involves 456 people from all walks of life who become players in a series of deadly children’s games to win the ultimate cash prize.
Starring Lee Jung-jae, Jung Ho-yeon, Park Hae-soo, Gong Yoo, and Lee Byung-hun, Squid Game has solidified itself as a pop-culture phenomenon. Since the show’s debut in September of 2021, Netflix launched an official Squid Game merchandise line, popular YouTuber MrsBeast built a real-life Squid Game set, and the series earned numerous accolades. Earlier this year, Netflix announced that Squid Game season 2 would be happening. Squid Game season 2 has yet to reveal plot details or a release date, but Dong-hyuk confirmed that Gi-Hun and the Front Man would return.

Now, Dong-hyuk teases what players will have to endure in the next installment. In an interview with The Playlist, Dong-hyuk revealsSquid Game season 2 will have new games and says they will be better than season 1. The director explains that he doesn’t “want to give any spoilers” but states he has already visualized scenes for season 2.
