Just in time for the debut of the Fallout TV series, Bethesda has revealed that the long-awaited current-gen update for Fallout 4 will be dropping on April 25.
2023 might have been a little rougher for Bethesda than many of us expected, but it looks like 2024 is turning all of that around. Not only has Amazon's Fallout series landed with a nuclear-sized bang and pushed ahead as one of the best gaming adaptations since The Last of Us, but we've finally got more news about the long-awaited current-gen update for Fallout 4.
Yesterday, the Fallout series premiered a few days earlier than we all expected, and it looks like Bethesda is trying to capitalise on all that post-apocalyptic hype, as it just confirmed that Fallout 4's current-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series is going to be arriving in just a few weeks on April 25.
This was confirmed by Bethesda over on the official Fallout website in a news post about the update. Beyond confirming when the PS5 and Xbox Series versions are going to be releasing, the news post also details a lot of content that's going to be included within the patch. For starters, the update adds native versions of Fallout 4 on both PS5 and Xbox Series, alongside Performance mode and Quality mode settings.
It'll also add stability improvements and a variety of fixes for the game, although what specifically isn't mentioned. Fallout 4 players on PS4 and Xbox One will also receive a free update with those same stability improvements, as well as some fixes for logins and quests. PC players aren't being left out of the fun, either, as a new update is coming for the game that adds widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, as well as fixes to Creation Kit.
The news blog also revealed that Fallout 4 will soon be available to purchase on the Epic Games Store and that it'll now be Steam Deck Verified.
