A new glitch introduced in Fallout 4 after the release of the next-gen update currently allows gamers to shoot giant exclamation points when using some of the game’s new guns. Despite Bethesda’s promises to improve Fallout 4 with this eagerly awaited update, the patch broke quite a few aspects of the game.
Bethesda released the Fallout 4 next-gen update on April 25. The big update fixed some known bugs, introduced native versions of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, added support for higher resolutions, and a few new guns. The new Makeshift Weapon Pack, for instance, included the Nail Gun, Baseball Launcher, Saw Blade launcher, and piggy bank-based weaponry for the game.
Now, a Fallout 4 player called -Dest_- discovered a hilarious glitch inadvertently introduced by the update. In a short video shared by the gamer, it’s possible to see them shooting an enemy from the top of a building. However, instead of shooting a projectile with their gun, a huge red exclamation point is thrown at the adversary, killing it. According to -Dest_-, none of the new guns introduced in the update loaded correctly, and this weird glitch is happening to all of them. Unfortunately, -Dest_- did not clarify what platform they were playing on. People in the comments of the post hinted that the bug is possibly common, though, as other users also saw the same happen, independently of whether they have used mods or not.
The overall reception of Fallout 4’s next-gen update has been negative, with gamers finding issues on essentially all platforms. For instance, Xbox players claim that Fallout 4’s Quality Mode isn’t working. According to them, a bug is preventing the mode from being activated, and gamers are stuck on Performance Mode despite the option they picked.
Another platform that faced issues after the update was Steam Deck. Fallout 4 is Steam Deck-verified now, but not only have some platform-specific bugs not been fixed, but gamers can’t change graphics in Fallout 4’s Steam Deck
