Bethesda has finally revealed gamplay for Starfield during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase.
To close out the show, Todd Howard introduced Starfield for the first time and revealed an extended look at how the game will play. The gameplay showcase started with the player emerging from a ship with a robot mech companion, before showing that the player can scan things in the environment, similarly to No Man's Sky.

Some other highlights from the gameplay include being able to mine resources with a laser gun, which looks a lot like No Man's Sky. The combat is very similar to Fallout 4, but the player is shown being able to use a jetpack to fly around the environment.
The gameplay showcase then showed the player traversing different planets and talking to different characters. It also teases some of the game's story, with the player coming into contact with a ancient artifact that others are searching for.
Along with Redfall, Starfield was delayed to 2023. While the former didn't have a fixed date, Starfield was set to launch on November 11. "These decisions are hard on teams making the games & our fans," said Xbox CEO Phil Spencer in a statement at the time. "While I fully support giving teams time to release these great games when they are ready, we hear the feedback. Delivering quality & consistency is expected, we will continue to work to better meet those expectations."
The devs seemed to have taken a sigh of relief when the delay was originally announced. Studios have been worried about putting out incomplete games ever since the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077. A report by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier confirmed this, as he tweeted, "Last spring
