Exclusive Something Is About to Happen Trailer Previews Mystery Thriller
ComingSoon is debuting the, previewing the upcoming thriller about a woman who takes on work as a cab driver looking to find a man after a chance romantic encounter. The film will premiere on VOD, digital, and the streaming service Film Movement Plus on February 14, 2025.
“A steamy encounter with a new neighbor who has gone missing leads the recently unemployed Lucia (Malena Alterio) to take on work as a cab driver in hopes of finding the man that reawakened her latent sexuality,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Using her new vocation as a means of radical connection and self-reinvention, she finds both erotic and intellectual stimulation from her clientele. However, the more Lucia freely gives of herself to strangers, the more it becomes clear that she might be the target of a nefarious plot with violent consequences.”

The trailer highlights the story of the upcoming movie, which focuses on Lucia, a woman who takes up work as a cab driver in an effort to find her new neighbor, who has gone missing and whom Lucia had a steamy encounter with. As she continues the work, she begins to believe she is involved in a mysterious plot centered around her.
Something Is About to Happen is directed by Antonio Méndez Esparza and co-written by Esparza and Clara Roquet. The film stars Malena Alterio, Aitana Sánchez Gijón, José Luis Torrijo, Mariona Ribas, and Rodrigo Poisón. Amadeo Hernández Bueno, Pedro Hernández Santos, Miguel Morales, Alvaro Portanet Hernández, and Vlad Radulescu all serve as producers on the project.
