The series is a classic for many, andis set to continue that long legacy. With a release date of February 11, 2025, anyone looking to lock in a copy of the game at launch might be thinking about preordering the game soon. Three digital options available for preorder provide different perks, but deciding between them can be difficult, as publisher 2K Games hasn't yet revealed every detail about what will be included.

Across every edition, brings a variety ofnew features to the table while maintaining many of the classic staples of the series. The game introduces new features like ‘personas,’ which display the various goals and personalities of leaders, and the ability to select a new civilization in each new age. Gwendoline Christie will voice the main in-game narrator, marking the first time a woman has taken on this major role in the series.

Civilization 7 has three digital versions available for preorder, and the most expensive of the three is the Founders Edition. Interestingly, the price of the Founders Edition isn't the same on every platform, with a $10 difference between the edition on the Nintendo Switch and all other platforms. On PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, it sells for $129.99, whereas on the Nintendo eShop, it is priced at $119.99, both without tax.

Gamescom 2024 gives more information on Civ 7 to the general public, but there are quite a few more differences between its predecessor than shown.

This approach carries across editions,as the Deluxe and Standard editions feature the same price gap on Nintendo Switch. There's no official explanation of the gap in pricing, but it could be due to reduced graphics quality in order for it to run on the device.
