Following in the steed of its sister title, Euro Truck Simulator 2 has now received a new release — Update 1.45.
The update has some shared features with American Truck Simulator, including ownable tank trailers and mod support in the Convoy multiplayer mode, but Euro Truck Simulator 2 has received a few key, unique features as well.
One new element is that the city of Hanover, Germany has gotten a nice makeover. SCS explains that it essentially “deleted the entire city and started from scratch.” The southern and central sectors have a “completely different layout with a new economy” and have the added benefit of featuring “some unique depots in the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2.”
This includes the arrival of the Hannover Messe, which is one of the world’s largest trade halls. The scenery designers took on the monstrous tasks of creating it to a near 1:1 scale. SCS teases that it may very well be using this virtual rendition of the space “later this year.”
Another new feature of Update 1.45 for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is an update for the Krone Trailers DLC pack. It includes two new trailers — the Profi Liner Building trailer (used to haul goods like fertilizer, tiles, and bricks) and the Paper Liner trailer (used to haul standard cargo). Each type is a three-axle trailer that also sports lift axels. The Krone Production Plant is also now featured inn the sim, and it functions as a new job site to haul goods to-and-from.
JOST Fifth Wheels also are a part of this update. Jost is bringing new branded 5th wheels that have unique designs for each truck brand. And this is only the first phase of the rollout (pun intended), which also includes designs for individual trucks from MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo.
