EU seeking feedback for UK Microsoft Activision deal
pcgamesinsider.bizThe European Union's antitrust regulators are reportedly seeking feedback from companies in the games industry regarding Microsoft's updated Activision Blizzard deal.
That's according to Reuters, which reports that the EU is trying to see whether the Big M's rivals are going to be impacted by the revised terms of the acquisition in the United Kingdom.
This saw Microsoft give up the streaming rights for its games business to Ubisoft in an effort to appease the UK's Competition and Market Authority, which blocked the deal on the basis that the Xbox firm boasted an existing advantage in the cloud games space and that this would be enhanced by the Activision Blizzard acquisition.
The European Commission is unlikely to launch a formal investigation into the new deal with the implication seemingly being that the organisation is waiting for the Competition and Market Authority to weigh in on the matter.
