A new text-based RPG is now out on Android. It’s called Eldrum: Black Dust – Text RPG and it brings with it deep narratives and tough decisions. It’s the third game in the Eldrum series by Act None after Eldrum: Untold and Eldrum: Red Tide.
In Eldrum: Black Dust, the story drags us further south into the desert deadlands. It’s a sandy playground of treachery, moral dilemmas and debt collectors who don’t believe in second chances. You’ll come across some familiar factions, but the setting and the story are all new.
Unlike the previous two games, Eldrum: Black Dust brings a class system in play to spice up the intense turn-based combat. The game blends the immersive storytelling of Choose Your Own Adventure gamebooks with the strategies of D&D campaigns.
Coming to the story, you play as a drifter, haunted by your past. After stepping on the wrong toes, you’ve fled to a desert city you thought was your safe haven. Unfortunately, it’s not. Instead of lying low, you’ve stumbled into a trap set by the very people you were trying to avoid.
So, then it becomes all about survival. Pay your debts in gold or spill some blood trying. The branching storylines in Eldrum: Black Dust lets you make different choices. These, in turn, shape your journey toward one of the game’s multiple endings.
On that note, catch a glimpse of Eldrum: Black Dust below.
The game takes you into a world where every choice you make could be the one that saves or dooms you. As you navigate the desert city and its dangerous outskirts, you’ll uncover secrets and side quests.
The text descriptions are vivid enough to paint a whole movie in your head with nice atmospheric audio. Overall, I think Eldrum: Black Dust may actually live up to its expectations. I’m eager to try this one out. If you are too, then grab it from the Google Play Store at $8.99.
