The Malenia boss fight in Elden Ring is notorious for its difficulty, with many players struggling to defeat her. Malenia is such a difficult boss, in fact, that one Elden Ring player has become famous for helping people kill her in co-op. The Malenia boss fight was hard enough as it was, but the latest update has caused an issue that makes it even more difficult for players to win.

FromSoftware recently released Elden Ring update 1.04, and it came with an intentional buff for Malenia that basically nullified a common cheese strategy that players were using to beat her. However, it also caused an unintentional buff that is making the fight more difficult when players summon in co-op partners.
One of Malenia's gimmicks that makes her such a challenging boss fight is she heals after each hit. This means players not only have to make sure they're landing their blows on her, but they also have to do everything they can to avoid being hit, or else it will prolong the battle in a way that doesn't happen with other boss fights in the game. However, after update 1.04, it seems that Malenia is now healing even when she doesn't hit Elden Ring players.
