One of the hardest boss fights in Elden Ring got even harder following last week’s patch, but that wasn’t intentional.
Last week’s Elden Ring patch did a lot to not only rebalance the game, but also fixed several major and minor bugs. Unfortunately, it seemed to introduce entirely new ones, such as one involving one of the hardest boss fights in the game.

Apparently, Malenia wasn’t the only boss not always working properly, as the patch notes state that one of the bugs fixed was one that caused bosses to die at unintended times.
The full patch notes can be found on Bandai Namco’s website, but be warned, it does briefly mention the final boss, so don’t read them if you wish to avoid its identity.
