Now that the game has been out for a couple of months, many fans have had time to encounter the large variety of incredible bosses Elden Ring contains. Developer FromSoftware is no stranger to creating stunning and complicated boss fights in previous games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Many of these brilliant boss fights include intriguing lore clues for observant fans.
The director of Elden Ring and other Soulsborne titles, Hidetaka Miyazaki, is infamous for his approach to presenting his video game's story. Unlike most games, FromSoftware often forces players to explore and make discoveries on their own without any direction. This often leads to players missing out on information about the lore of the game and sometimes wholly missing optional areas often filled with epic bosses. But some information has been found that was removed from one of Elden Ring's most crucial boss fights, and its inclusion would have had some significant lore implications.

But it turns out thatElden Ring fan-favorite Blaidd was once a summon used by Rennala during her boss fight's second phase. Observant Soulsborne data miner Zullie The Witch made the discovery that, while the spectral summon was removed from Elden Ring before it launched, the remnants were left in the game's code. During this second phase of Rennala's boss fight, Zullie is able to summon a small variety of allies to temporarily aid her in battle, much like how players use the game's Spirit Ashes.
