For those who want to mainline the game, Elden Ring‘s estimated length will sit at around 30 hours. This was revealed during a broadcast from Taipei Game Show 2022. The game’s producer, Yasuhiro Kitao, went into further detail about the game’s length and pointed out that this number was specifically for those who want to experience the main route. He made sure to state that “the game as a whole is quite massive, and contains many dozens more hours worth of gameplay.”
The game’s delay was also briefly discussed, and during a Q&A segment some details were revealed about how FromSoftware used this extra time. When asked if the development was going smoothly, Kitao assured that the game would meet its February 25 release date. Some controversy has surrounded Elden Ring due to issues found within the Dark Souls series’ PvP servers. It’s currently unknown whether these issues will be present in Elden Ring.
FromSoftware titles are no stranger to varying playtimes. After all, it really depends on how easy you find most of its titles. The first Dark Souls game took anywhere from 20 to 40 hours to beat on a first playthrough. The same case could be very likely here, but there’s another element that’s sure to skew these numbers as well.
Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s first fully open-world title and seemingly has loads of secrets to uncover. From hidden dungeons dotted across the land, to surprise boss fights against fearsome foes.
