The Taipei Game Show just wrapped up last weekend with Elden Ring making a grand finale for the digital conference. Producer Yasuhiro Kitao spoke for 40 minutes about the coming game revealing that not only has Elden RIng gone gold, but it’ll also take about 30 hours to complete the main campaign.
"This will differ significantly by player," Kitao said. "But in terms of the targets set during development, the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours. The game as a whole is quite massive, and contains many dozens more hours worth of gameplay, but if we are talking about the main route only, it shouldn't take much longer than that."

Anyone who's played Dark Souls will likely take that 30-hour target with a grain of salt. FromSoftware games and especially the Dark Souls series are notorious for their difficulty, which means those 30 hours could expand greatly with repeated deaths.
Or maybe not. Kitao also revealed that Elden Ring won't be like Dark Souls in terms of difficulty, and players wary of FromSoftware's reputation shouldn't be afraid of Elden Ring.
"This is the perfect title for those who have been interested in our games in the past, but who have been put off by concerns about the games being too difficult," confirmed Kitao.
Even if the game is finishable in 30 hours, Kitao said that nobody will be able to experience all of Elden Ring in just a single playthrough thanks to its branching ending. That said, a New Game Plus will let players experience the campaign again using the same character (and retaining all your skills and equipment) so you can try for a different ending the second time around.
